You don't call a Black man "boy"…never…ever…ever

Well.  It was bound to happen.  Today Obama was referred to as a “boy”; see the details below.  It’s funny, I’m not shocked by this comment one bit.  As I said it was bound to happen.  It’s unfortunate because there are White people all over the country right now that are moaning and groaning about this one because of their genuine love for and support of Obama.  I just love how easily it rolled of the man’s tongue, I mean, did you notice how he didn’t even flinch?  Not a hint of a stutter.  He felt completely righteous in his comments.  Not only is he a “boy” but he couldn’t make major decisions about nuclear weapons in a simmulation so we’re supposed to beleive that the “boy” is incompitent too, right?

He wouldn’t have said it if he didn’t have a likeminded audience to say it to.  Everyone should keep that in mind while we’re all on this we-are-the-world-let’s-talk-about-race shit, alright?  It’s not as easy as it looks.  We’ve haven’t come as far as most would like to believe.

That his assitant actually fixed her fingers to type “in no way reflects…”…c’mon!  Don’t apologize.  Don’t tell us not to get distracted by what you said because there are more important things to think about.  We’re looking at electing a Black President in a country that wrote the book on racism and used Black people as its example.  So don’t say you’re sorry because you’re not.  Maya Angelou has said “when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”

I believe you.

Kentucky congressman Geoff Davis “compared Obama and his message for change similar to a ‘snake oil salesman.’ He said in his remarks at the GOP dinner [on Saturday] that he also recently participated in a ‘highly classified, national security simulation’ with Obama.”

“‘I’m going to tell you something: That boy’s finger does not need to be on the button,’ Davis said. ‘He could not make a decision in that simulation that related to a nuclear threat to this country.’”

Obama spokesman Bill Burton followed up with this tough response: “It’s hard to tell what is more outrageous — Representative Davis’ condescending and personal attack, or his absurd and offensive claim that Barack Obama is not prepared to defend America. Geoff Davis may hide behind offensive tough talk, but he has marched in lock-step with Bush-McCain policies that have devastated our national security while Barack Obama has stood up against a misguided war in Iraq and worked with respected Republicans like Dick Lugar and Chuck Hagel to secure loose weapons and nuclear materials from terrorists.”

*** UPDATE *** Here’s Davis’ letter to Obama…
Dear Senator Obama:
On Saturday night I gave a speech in which I used a poor choice of words when discussing the national security policy positions of the Presidential candidates. I was quoted as saying “That boy’s finger does not need to be on the button.”

My poor choice of words is regrettable and was in no way meant to impugn you or your integrity. I offer my sincere apology to you and ask for your forgiveness.

Though we may disagree on many issues, I know that we share the goal of a prosperous, secure future for our nation. My comment has detracted from the dialogue that we should all be having on legitimate policy differences and in no way reflects the personal and professional respect I have for you.

Sincerely
Geoff Davis

How about if the just confuse him with Tiger Woods, since they all look alike?

& run a pro-war rally as a Republican party only event
